First Base consulted the local community on our initial plans for a landmark mixed-use development on the Soapworks site in Old Market, Bristol, earlier this year. We are delighted with the overwhelming response it received via its online and physical consultations, with 80% of those who responded indicating that they were supportive of the redevelopment of the site in principle.
If you were unable to attend the consultation events held earlier this year, please click here to view the materials which were on display.
First Base and our project team have reviewed all feedback received and have worked with Bristol City Council to refine our proposals over the summer. The proposals will celebrate Bristol’s industrial past and creative culture and deliver an exciting and inclusive mix of retail and commercial space, new homes and an aparthotel.
The proposals will also sensitively rennovate and restore the cherished Soapworks building (the former Gardiner Haskins warehouse), which will include modern, flexible and creative commercial and co-working space, as well as a vibrant and independent food and drink offer.
This website is to keep you up-to-date on our activities and to gather any feedback you have on the proposals for the site.
If you have any comments on the proposals or simply have any questions, please either:
